RUBY SLIPPER plans are now available!
(Reviewed in WoodenBoat No. 287)

Doug’s latest design, previously featured on our “On the Drawing Board” page, has now been fleshed out into both downloadable study plans and printed build plans available in our Stock Plans section.

Those of you who followed Doug’s initial design for the boat while still “on the drawing board”  will notice some subtle adjustments as the design has evolved.

For an outside opinion, please see Mike O’Brien’s  review in the latest issue of WoodenBoat (No. 287).

Ruby Slipper Plans – Study and Build

For Sale:  HUNNY – 43′ Cruiser (rebuilt 2021 by H&B). – $149,000 *New reduced price!*

Chummy Rich Built, Hylan&Brown restored downeast cruiser HUNNY

HUNNY – 43′ Robert “Chummy” Rich downeast cruiser, rebuilt 2021 by Hylan and Brown.  Price recently reduced to $149,000!!!

Every system aside from the main engine is brand new and state of the art, (see complete list on our brokerage page).  Hunny was stripped to a bare hull and given an entirely new cabin, engine room, and pilothouse, along with state-of-the art power systems and controls by Hylan & Brown in 2021.  The original engine is a well-maintained, low-hour 370 HP Yanmar engine and was reinstalled after a complete service.  Photos are from mid-project sea-trials in 2020.

Now, due to unforeseen circumstances HUNNY is for sale with approximately 3/4 of her refit accomplished .  This is a unique opportunity to purchase a classic live-aboard cruiser in the late stages of a complete systems, superstructure and accommodations rebuild.   At this asking price HUNNY is a rare value approaching $0.50 on the dollar, and although much of the work is completed, an experienced and knowledgeable owner would still have the opportunity to customize some of the layout and style of the interior to suit their taste without setting the project back.

For full details, please visit HUNNY on our brokerage page.

Hylan & Brown – The next step for D.N. Hylan & Associates.

I am pleased to announce that D. N. Hylan & Associates Inc. has become Hylan & Brown – Boatbuilders. It was in our winter 2012 newsletter that Doug announced that he had brought me on as partner. Since that time my responsibilities as well as my ownership of the company have grown to the point that Doug thought we ought to put my name on the shingle too. I’m honored to be associated with all the great work that Doug and this shop have turned out over the past 20 years. I look forward to continuing and building upon the great reputation for quality, honesty and creativity that Doug has worked so hard to build.Ellery Brown
